About Me:

Cindy bartlett, Ms, RDN, LDN, Cdces

Hello! My name is Cindy Bartlett and I’m a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). I have always been a “foodie” so it felt natural to pursue the field of dietetics and nutrition as a career. I attended Purdue University where I received my Bachelor of Science in Dietetics then earned my Master of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition from Marshall University. With the ongoing prevalence of diabetes in our society, I wanted to pursue further training in an area in which I could have the most impact. I then obtained my certification as a CDCES in 2019. 


Throughout my career, I thoroughly enjoyed counseling clients, but I always felt like I wanted to offer them more. With traditional dieting, a stigma around food exists. There is an enormous emphasis on restrictions and what people “can’t” or “shouldn’t” eat. I want people to be able to enjoy their food and feel good about their choices! 


I realize how unsustainable and unsatisfying it is to restrict food groups. Like so many others, I have personal experience with food apps, often finding these preset calorie goals unattainable and having guilt and shame around not being able to achieve the goals. How could I tell my patients to follow a similar plan if I couldn’t do it? There had to be a better, long-term solution other than restricting the foods we enjoy. 


When I discovered Intuitive Eating, I realized this was not only a sustainable way of eating for myself but could strongly benefit my clients and their relationships with food as wellIntuitive Eating is finding food freedom. It’s about working with your challenges and not against them. It is possible to enjoy your food, feel good about the choices you make, and improve your lab values all at the same time!
